Furniture exhibited at the Colonial Exhibition of Paris in 1931. An exceptional piece of furniture in Madagascar rosewood and precious wood, entirely designed according to the golden ratio by A. Fréchet (1874-1967), decorator and director of the École Boulle from 1919 to 1934.

Crafted in the workshops of the École Boulle in 1930-31.

Marked and dated E. B. (for École BOULLE) 1931 in the upper part of the central sculpture, numbered 17 - 30 (or date of creation) on the back.

History:

This piece was part of a set of four identical showcases, with only slight variations in the central sculpted motifs, designed by André Fréchet for the 1931 Colonial Exhibition.
