Georges RECIPON (1860-1920) & Emile MULLER (1823-1889)

French painter and sculptor, whose most famous creations are "les Nymphes de la Seine" and "les Nymphes de la Néva" featured in the keys to the Alexandre-III bridge in Paris (1900) and the two quadrigas in the Grand Palais in Paris (1900).

Here we present an important ornamental glazed ceramic torchiere depicting the figure of Eurynome holding a Leviathan. The only example known to date.

Signed lower right "RECIPON" and "E. MULLER", stamped inside "E. MULLER" INSIDE.
