Tahar MGUEDMINI, born in Houmt-Souk, Djerba, to a peasant father and a homemaker mother. He pursued his studies at the Fine Arts in Tunis and later in Paris from 1970. He has been living between Djerba and Zurich since 1989. He openly identifies with the gestural "lyrical" expressionist movement. His generally large-format works, whether on paper or canvas, employ various techniques to express the human body in motion. They are almost always associated with light. He has a substantial record of national and international exhibitions. A long and extraordinary career for this artist. A book dedicated to him was published in 2008: Tahar M'Guedmini, the Body in Emotion.
