Superb patinated bronze and gilt bronze statue representing the Allegory of History, a work by Georges Bareau and cast by the F. Barbedienne foundry, dating from the 1900s. This creation, titled 'Allegory of History,' is the result of a remarkable collaboration between the renowned sculptor Georges Bareau and the famous founder Ferdinand Barbedienne. The sculpture is beautifully displayed on a square base topped with a pedestal, where a graceful young woman is depicted. Half-dressed, the figure is draped in carefully crafted flowing fabric. In one of her hands, she holds an unfurled scroll. Her face reflects deep thought, and she wears an elegant hairstyle with her hair pulled up in a bun and adorned with a gilt bronze headband.
