In two centuries, the small family industry born during the Revolution has come a long way. Many lovers of these cheerful and colorful pieces are scattered all over the world. Paul Utzschneider, then his son-in-law Alexandre de Geiger and the latter's son, Paul de Geiger, were true one-man bands, and they propelled the small town to the forefront of the earthenware industry: from the 19th century onwards, Sarreguemines has offered a vast collection of earthenware, vases, flowerpots, wall frescoes, fireplaces, etc., to the whole world.
