Ernest Bussière (1863-1913)

This pitcher is part of the 29 ceramics known as "vegetal" in the exhibition bearing the double signature Keller and Guérin Lunéville and Bussière. However, on this one, we find the signature KG Lunéville Majorelle (Majorelle took over and put his name on pieces by Bussière that he put up for sale).

Like the others, it is part of a collection dominated by the organic plasticity of the vegetal forms with a matte and shiny glass skin, the craftsmanship of which has been lost.

Ernest Bussière was a sculptor and worked on important monuments in several cities. This ceramic work is a parenthesis in his work as a sculptor.
