Spoon. Wood, ochre pigments with the representation of a Zemble mask, a fast and fearsome spirit of Nature, at the top. This spoon must have belonged to a dignitary, a lineage chief, perhaps responsible for the cult of the three entities of Nature, which are Zemble, Zauli and Gu. The three spirits were honoured on the same family altar. This spoon may have been used to handle sacrificial food, which was only cooked by men.
