ONNAING (manufacture)

ONNAING (manufacture)

French
(1821 - 1939)

Founded on February 2, 1821 by the brothers Ferdinand-Louis de Bousies, Charles de Bousies (viscount of Rouveroy), their cousin Chevalier Adolphe de Bousies and Baron Frédéric de Sécus, the Onnaing earthenware factory was initially a new establishment of the Belgian factory in Nimy, intended to circumvent customs duties.
From 1827, the factory was bought several times and became, in 1894, the Société Anonyme de la Faïencerie d'Onnaing.
